Global Cooperation: Working Together to Build Sustainable & Inclusive Supply Chains
2023 marks the midpoint for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 2030 Agenda. At this crucial juncture, the President Elect of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 78), His Excellency Dennis Francis, has called upon the Member States to discuss ‘Rebuilding trust and reigniting global solidarity: Accelerating action on the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) towards peace, prosperity, progress and sustainability for all’.
Achieving the SDGs, including climate action, calls for global cooperation, alongside active private sector engagement, particularly mobilizing small businesses to explore trade as a solution. To facilitate this meaningful dialogue, the International Trade Centre (ITC) and the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU) are organizing the Good Trade Summit 2023, a half-day event on the sidelines of UNGA 78.
The event will engage key stakeholders, from governments, multilateral organizations, and the private sector, including small businesses, brands and retailers. The event will focus on amplifying the voice of small businesses as active contributors to the SDGs in setting the policy agenda.
