Sri Lanka’s first fully integrated legal advocacy training platform focused on enhancing the standard of the legal profession, with special emphasis on International Commercial Arbitration, International Trade Law, International Mediation, and Negotiation.

With Sri Lanka’s rapid development and the strong potential of becoming one of Asia’s leading economies by 2040, the demand for legal services of International standards will continue to grow. The Moot Court Bench aims to provide a platform for top law students to develop the necessary skills in written and oral, while learning in-depth, International Commercial Arbitration, International Mediation, and International Trade Law.

EMBARK ON A JOURNEY

The inaugural ‘Vis Pre Moot  | Sri Lanka’ is Sri Lanka’s first ever Pre-Moot. Working with 4 years of experience in coaching and competing in Hongkong and Vienna, the Vis Alumni of Sri Lanka in Partnership with CLDP plan to deliver the pre-moot on the 1st and 2nd of March 2021. Due to Covid-19 travel restrictions, this year’s Pre-moot is virtual.

The MCB Mediation Program provides training on Mediation and Mediation Advocacy, where the best performing student team is selected and trained to take part at ICC’s biggest educational event of the year is the ICC Mediation Competition. It gathers 250+ students and coaches, as well as 100+ professional mediators and mediator trainers from all over the world. Countries will compete to resolve international business disputes through mediation, guided by professional mediators under the ICC Mediation Rules.

The Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot is the Olympics of Commercial Arbitration Moots. The Program includes over 9 months of training and skills development in written and oral advocacy, with learning in-depth learning in International Commercial Arbitration and the Convention on the International Sale of Goods (CISG)

The John H. Jackson aims to enhance students’ knowledge in International trade law and the World Trade Organization (WTO) dispute settlement procedures. The Program also focuses on advocating for meaningful engagement in multilateral trade in the long term. The Moot is organized by the European Law Students Association (ELSA).
